THE LEATHER

Cypress is a newer tannage from Chicago's Horween Tannery, taking elements we love from their Dublin and Predator leathers. Cypress is combination tanned, with a heavy vegetable retan process. Cut at a full 6 ounces, these boots are obviously substantial, but subtleties in the tanning make for a shortened break-in time.

In terms of the color, Autumn Cypress is a beautiful deep brown, with beautiful variation and the most impressive pull-up. This leather is tanned so that it may evolve and burnish over time, taking all the missteps and stubbed toes with grace.
