Black Teton Stag | Plain Toe

Black Teton Stag | Plain Toe

THE LEATHER

Black Teton Stag is derived from North American White Tail Deer and tanned by Gallun Leathers in Wisconsin who have been in the tanning business since 1858, innovating novel approaches to calf, wild boar, and now White Tail Deer. Working from a non-heavy metal tannage for this leather has resulted in a soft, supple leather that exhibits the qualities you may know from buckskin, while unique changes to tanning bring out a more full-bodied leather. If you'd like a few more details about Teton Stag, read our Leather Notes about it here for more details.

This Black version is a struck-through black, which means it will remain black through its evolution, and any scuffs and scratches will blend more readily.

These exceptional hides embrace a rich variability. Like ramblers, kudu and horse rump we've run before, the boots will be one of a kind, with fluctuating levels of grain from pair to pair. Our skilled cutter specifically cuts each pair together, so that while the boots may vary within a run, each individual pair is beautifully matched.
